Identity Map Relief

Identity Map Relief :

I unfortunately don't have an image for this I waited to long to grab my work and got locked out of the art building for the semester, but the inspiration for my project was my old high school.

To represent the school I tried to show different paths and different areas of the two story outdoor building with controlled chaos. I used spray paint to further represent paths I would take going to and from different classes. I also wanted to show a different view form any angle you looked at and held the art piece.

Fluxus Box

Materials: wood carved strategically every other plank is carved in deep, every yellow line is carved in. dimensions: about 11 inches
My box is based off the Movie : Killer Klowns from outer space.

I Designed each item to represent something specific from the movie that wasn't exactly a scene more so representational of events that happened like for instance I stuffed 48+ tickets inside a single lightbulb to represent the amount of people who died in the movie. I used tickets because usually if your going to a show or a circus you would buy or present a ticket when you enter the circus.

Memento: Ode to a Broken Heart

Ode to a Broken Heart: have you ever loved someone so much that when things inevitably end your just left heart broken. It's a piece that looks broken but you were to push it back together it might just fit . It wont be the same but it might just fit.

The process I used to create this was piecing to cylinder cardboard pieces together one slightly raised up. and pouring wood glue at the bond sprayed with cooking nonstick oil, which created a clear cover at the bottom. This allowed me to pour more wood clue and a spiraling down toothpaste with wood glue all over it mixed with non stick oil. I then placed it in the oven at 350 for about 5 or 10 minutes.

After taking it out I then cut a straight line down on both sides and split it open revealing the toothpaste and cooked wood glue that expanded as it baked. I would like to think it represent self healing Trying to piece everything back together.

Soap Sculpture

Soap Sculpture of a Polar Bear materials used : soap carving tools, soap, and miniature animal as model.

Balsa Wood

Balsa Wood Project, relatively small in dimension I can hold it in my hand.
we did two also wood sculptures my other one not pictured was much smaller with a round circular balsa base with pins poked through one side making a wave like texture and a glazed over pointed part of pins on the other side. It had similar resemblance to a stalagmite.

In the pictured balsa wood sculpture I tried to represent different info/ views from each side you looked at the sculpture.
